Steel + Spark launched an innovative, off-grid housing solution in Roosevelt Row. A newly beautified, city owned lot in downtown Phoenix was transformed into a small neighborhood housing project created with solar-powered, repurposed shipping containers.

The Steel + Spark team has designed, built, and developed multiple container projects throughout the metro area, including Containers on Grand, the Oscar, Churchill, Freight Tempe, and IDA on McKinley. The sustainable and fully self contained Sparkbox units have the potential to answer a variety of housing needs including transitional housing, parents aging-in-place, supportive place for family with special needs, and workforce housing.
